Kitchen remodeling, layout is the first thing to consider, this is where I work in reverse. I like to start with appliances that are energy efficient and recommend everyone to do the same. Take inventory and figure out what will stay and what will go. Make sure the appliances that you have in mind will fit the space. Think about colors and how they contrast with the cabinets, appliances, walls and floors. Light painted cabinets contrast beautifully with darker wood floors, table and countertop edges. Do you want to refinish your cabinets or remove them? If you are into a minimalist look you might want to make the kitchen seamless as you can conceal appliances with decorative appliance kits to fit the cabinetry.
If you are on a budget, you can have the countertops removed and have a cabinetry maker make new countertops with Formica, granite, stone. Simply add backsplash, like flooring, backsplash comes in many colors and a hierarchy of all types of geometric shapes that can be used throughout your project. You can add horizontal “rectilinear shelf and grid of aluminum. Lighting in the kitchen can be as unique as milk bottle lamps acting like a chandelier in the kitchen bringing out a dramatic look, recessed door systems that can be hidden from view and out of the way. Keep in mind that the kitchen is the hub of the home, therefore, makes sure that whatever you decide, it must be functional.
