The petite fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker will no longer serve as creative director and president of Halston Heritage, the Halston label’s lower-priced brand (price point $325 & up), according to Women’s Wear Daily. This isn’t the first time that a fashion venture has gone awry for Sarah Jessica Parker. When Steve & Barry’s went out of business, her line Bitten, which was sold exclusively through S&B, went under as well.
Price-wise, the lines were quite different with Bitten touted as a budget brand as many pieces sold for under $20. On the other hand, clothing from Halston Heritage, Halston’s lower-priced line, retails for hundreds.
Readers have expressed hope that Sarah Jessica Parker will bring back Bitten, especially because people are struggling financially in a sluggish economy, but it remains to be seen whether or not Sarah Jessica Parker will enter another association with a fashion brand.
We can’t be sure where Sarah Jessica Parker’s petite fashion focus will take her. Perhaps she’ll limit her fashion statements to her own personal appearances on the red carpet and to fashion spreads, such as the one featured her posing in designer clothing this month in Vogue, rather than walking on the wild side of the fashion business.
