Petite Women Vs. Glamazon Women “Facts and “Petite” Figures”

Although I describe what I’ve learned about male and female preferences, sexual selection, and evolutionary psychology in the coming article, to give you a little food for thought, I’ve listed some statistics to help clear your mind (perhaps after reading this, you will no longer think it’s a “fetish” or fantasy for tall men to like “petite women”).

Try to remember that the average height of a woman in the United States stands at 5’3”, thus making them…come on, say it with me – “PETITE!”

This is actually true for around the globe as well, concluding that over 70% of the women in our population are 5’5” and under. Clearly then, it’s plausible and conceivable to presume that the odds of a tall man pairing up or preferring a petite woman would be higher than that of them picking a tall woman, correct? To prove my point, allow me to list a few countries’ height averages, accounting for their women population:

Facts and “Petite” Figures

1. NORTH AMERICA: United States women are an average petite, 5’3”; Canadian women’s average height also is 5’3”; while Central Americans are even more petite, with a typical Mexican woman reaching a height of only 5’1”, and Guatemalan women, being some of the shortest women in the world, measuring only 4’6”.

2. SOUTH AMERICA: Columbian women have an average height of 5’2.4”, but in Brazil, women are a little more petite at 5’2.2”; Argentines are a little taller, standing at 5’3.4”.

3. AFRICA: Some of the tallest women of Africa live in Cameroon, reaching a mere 5’3.5” on average; however, throughout many African countries the average height is only 5’2”. The shortest African women live in Malawi and measure a very petite 5’1”.

4. EUROPE: Spain holds some of the shortest European women at a petite 5’2.3”, while women in France are a bit taller at a mere 5’3.7”. The average height of women in Finland is less than 5’5”, with the United Kingdom only reaching 5’4.4 on average. The Netherlands, which is where some of the tallest women in the world reside, reach a typical height of 5’6.4”, with women in Iceland and the Czech Republic standing a wee smaller at just 5’6”.

5. ASIA: Across the continent, there is a height difference of 7” from country to country, with the most petite women living in Indonesia at 4’10” on average, and the tallest women living in India, standing an average, 5’5”. Philippine women are among the shortest in the continent at a very petite 4’11”.

One can certainly see, the list goes on and on (one only has to do some research), with some countries I’ve never even heard of before! On my data sheets, which only includes 81 Countries and/or Regions, I have the tallest women living in the Dinaric Alps at an average height of 5’7” (which isn’t considered Amazon, or even tall enough for the modeling industry), and the most petite women, reaching only 4’6”, in Guatemala.

Petite Discrimination

To all the Amazon women out there who bitch and complain and make unfounded accusations, saying, “Petite women steal our men!” and, who charge us with being superficial and insincere with our mate choices by stating, “Petite women only date tall men so they can feel validated as a real woman,” (Oh yeah, and we Petites believe, too, that tall men are better hung, don’t forget that one!…Pfft, please get a life.*sigh*)

To the fashion industry who haven’t got a clue as to proper proportions, yet, for the petite masses, which one would think you would, by now; and to the high fashion modeling industry who discriminate and take away the dreams and ambition from any young woman under 5’8”(which hello, is most women) – these statistics are for YOU as if you didn’t already know. PLEASE, GET A CLUE…SOON!

Are we, the petite women of a global percentage, being “petty?” Or, are the Amazon women at 5’8 and over, who make up only 3.9% of our population, being adversarial? Yes, that was a rhetorical question – no need to answer!

This article is part three in our series on “Petites vs. Amazons” and the final analysis of this series.

  1. Yeah Dr. Phil did an article about that, and how what women would "really" look like if had the same proportions as barbie, was really funny.

It is scary in Asia, and even places here, people would get their legs elongaged, just to be an inch or two taller, that is how extreme people want to be taller, and want to be "normal" they think, but in all reality, they are hurting their body to fit something that doesn't exist really

    1. I’m not really buying that women in asia on average who choose to lengthen their legs are really doing it for added height purposes. I think their goal is to gain the shorter torso longer leg body type..which is most attractive to men. men are also more attracted to shorter women but also that have this body type with large breasts.
barbie is really not a good tool to try and measure up to. she has very elongated proportions(simulating a taller frame) while having tiny feet and hands in comparison to her body. not to mention her kim kardashian butt with like no thighs and double E breasts and a perfect face. she also has a tiny waist and ribcage….it’s like she is an overgrown petite woman; she has the body structure of a short woman, but because they made her legs and arms so long in porportion to her torso, she is tall (what did they say like 5.9 inches?)

    2. I don’t think this is very fair..being short doesn’t automatically make a woman petite and being tall doesn’t automatically make a woman supermodel material. Not all short women are thin, I’m sure a lot carry extra weight, therefore aren’t exactly considered petite. And not all tall women are thin and considered super model material. Speaking for myself, I’m 5’11 and have never been super model thin, not even if i tried. There’s pros and cons for being short and being tall. Instead of pointing out our differences and tearing one another down, we should be encouraging and empowering one another, regardless of height. This article made me feel attacked as a tall person. Especially a tall person who doesn’t fit the “tall and thin” bill. Regardless of what blogs u mightve read that talk down on short women, please don’t assume that we’re all like that. And definitely don’t think that tall automatically equals model. You don’t think it’s hard for a lot of us tall, nonthin women to find proper fitting clothes?? And when we do, they’re usually much more expensive. It’s easy to have a pity party and focus on the negatives. But that’s never done anything except make one look like a whining baby.

      1. Soo you do not know whaat petite means!! I am M size curvy and I am petite why? PETITE ONLY STANDS FOR HEIGHT!! LOl. educate yourself and watch less porn!

  2. It’s true that French women are notable for being petite and actually they’re only around 5’0″-5’5″. A lot of them don’t go past 5’6″-5’7″, especially among notable French women. Anyway, from those photos I see of Jake Gyllenhaal and Liam Hemsworth, they look quite as tall as me (5’8″) but then most male celebs don’t reach past 5’9″, even if they are models or once models.

  3. Well..I just read the thoughts of a taller woman on us petite women, particularly about us dating taller men. I have dated men with heights ranging between 5’3″ to 6’1″. I am 5’1″ and currently dating a man who is 5″11″. I love the feeling of having him next to me, he is fairly muscular also, not skinny, so I do feel protected by his stature. The more I date tall men , the more I love it. As for taller men being well hung…well the tall men I have dated are, but one of the shortest men I dated was also well endowed.

If taller women feel intimidated by us, I think they’re ridiculous, many petite women I know would love to add a few inches to their height. I myself had to come to terms with the fact that I am just not going to grow any more.

I know taller women who have problems meeting men who are suitable for their height, I on the other hand have no problems meeting men taller than 5’10”. That’s great because ..I LUV TALL MEN!!!

    *Giggle*

Sexually, tall men, short men who are well hung tell me that us petite women know how to handle their man hood perfectly…Something to think about…

    1. I think tall girls get a bad rap for hating on shorter girls because it’s a lot harder for a tall girl to find a guy taller than her. We wanna feel the same protection that shorter girls get, a lot of tall women are expected just to be able to do everything by themselves just because of our height. I know personally that it’s made me feel less feminine in the past, and I am anything but unfemine. I am 5’8, got a nice rack, and curves like Beyoncé. Oh, and a lot of guys like tiny girls because their tiny hands make their “well hung junks” look even bigger.

  4. Why, when petit women write articles about how it’s not a bad thing being short, do they have to attack tall women? I have never heard a tall women say any of the comments that are stated above. Do you think that clothes are made for tall people? Have you not noticed tall sections or tall people wearing skirts or shorts in winter? not a fashion choice. At least ‘petit’ women can take trousers up. Short of adding an inch of lace to the bottom of a hem, there’s not much a tall girl can do.

    1. I totally agree, also it sucks being tall and having broad shoulders because most women’s clothing is made for more delicate figures. There are a lot of pants, and dresses I can’t buy either because they’re waaaay too short for me.

  5. I had not heard of this issue before…I know that fashion models are tall, but who really wants to be a fashion model? Their life sounds like hell and I certainly wouldn’t want it. Also…I’m 5′ 7(1/2)” and I have never said this to, or about, any petit women…it is sad to see your research found this information out on internet blogs as you say and that tall women are being so very negative about petit…

    1. Hi Sunny, it was startling for us to discover in our research that there are so many blogs written by tall women making fun of petites and being just down right hateful about petite women. The writer of this three part series was attempting to bring humor and make light of an otherwise negative diatribe being put out by tall women on the internet. The series is written in defense with an entertaining spin. Our philosophy is that we all should get along. And the fashion industry should be accepting and recognize the petite woman in fashion and use petite models and stop the discrimination of petites. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

      1. Really? Where are these blogs that cruelly mock short women for being, what, average? Your “article” sets up a ridiculous adversarial relationship between tall and short women. As you point out, tall women are a tiny, tiny percentage of the population while shortness is the norm. How is it that >4% of the population is actively oppressing the 70-odd percent of women you cite as short? I was googling a different issue related to height when I hit upon your site, and I am boggled at the whiny tone and victim mentality on display.

By the way, I’m 5’10” and many of my friends are in the 5’1″-5’4″ range. If I refused to get along with short women due to some bizarre perceived rivalry, I’d have very few female friends. As for dating, short women can date tall guys all they want to. It’s not skin off my nose, as I’ve never lacked for interested men. The reality is that sometimes tall men date short women because the tall women are already taken. As you stated, we are scarce.

        1. Brilliant response. Clever, witty and funny! I had the misconception, correct me if I’m wrong, most men having the money and fame, would rather chose a supermodel than a shorter female. I always thought it had something to do with status rather than attractiveness per se. Whoever you are: short, tall, fat, skinny, brunette, blonde, black, asian, caucasian or green… Embrace your uniqueness and take advantage of it. The very same thing that makes you the butt of jokes, also will make you irresistible to others. And guess what, it’s those others whom you should care about.

5’5 and happy! Good job on the research I came across this blog and it supports your theory that men maybe do prefer petite women see http://chataboutyou.com/tall-women-or-short-women-which-do-men-prefer

  6. I’m a 21 year old woman, and I stand at a height of 5ft 8. I have always been self-conscious of my height, forever wishing that I was even only a couple of inches shorter, and more petite. The only thing that made me feel more beautiful, when I was in my teens and towering over my classmates, was that the models in magazines and on catwalks, were my height or taller.

This article has made me feel even more uncomfortable with my height, and even more of an outcast; considering, as you say, that I belong to a minority of only 3.9% of our population.

Perhaps, us Amazonian women feel that “Petite women steal our men!” because we have less choice than you. There are many times that I have been rejected for dates, or left for women smaller, cuter, and more petite than me, because of my height and broad shoulders. When you stand at 5ft8 or above, there are not a huge number of men that are taller than you, and amongst the men you are the same height or smaller, there are not many who want to date you.

Do not judge us and mock us for our height, we are after all the minority, so you have little to worry about. Think of us more like gentle giants who cling on to our modeling, where we are prided for the height which most of us hate.

Because, at the end of the day, I found this article by googling ‘how to be more petite’.

    1. Hello The Gentle Giant, and thank you for sharing your thoughts.

“Please note, it was startling for us to discover in our research that there are so many blogs written by tall women making fun of petites and being just down right hateful about petite women. Petite women feel like we are the outcast of the beauty and fashion industry. Bella Petite is here to shed positive light and imagery on the petite woman’s image http://www.BellaPetite.com/mission We don’t want anyone to feel poorly about themselves and we strongly believe that beauty exist in all shapes and heights!

    2. Hello gentle giant i`m worried for you because it sounds like you are an endangered speicies its sound like there is not enought tall men to go around .If thats the case tall women will not find a life companion and be alone for the rest of your life. Thus ending all hope ?????? But i`m in the same situation i can`t find a beautiful woman who thinks the world of me just because of only who i am, not my race, attitude, background upbringing. By the way i`m a 5foot 2inch male and if the petit and tall ladies dont want me who does that leave for me to love??

  7. Fee Fie Foe Fum!! Lol your midget blog rant was hilarious! Short girls have ugly weird proportions and are easily passed over for tall long legged beauties like myself. Date your short men 5’11 and under, no one gives a fack. Short girls are ugly and you know it that’s why you are not models, you are all dogs. Thanks for the laugh though. XD

    1. To Amazon Woman: You are the basis for which this article series was written in an effort to examine the behaviors and thoughts shared by some tall women. You are the very type of woman we encountered all over the internet with offensive negative blog writings. However, it is important to note that not all tall women are anti-petite and hateful like you.

    2. wow you’re an asshole. All the models I see are not pretty. They’re frail, lanky, and very oddly proportioned. Models should NOT be what you call beauty. They’re not real and they’re all interchangeable. Zero diversity. Short girls are not dogs. Your attitude and lack of respect for women is ugly. Guys usually don’t particularly like dating girls taller than them, they feel intimidated and are self conscious about what people will think. You’re very egotistical. If you can’t understand what that word means, it means “Full of yourself”. You’re very insecure for writing all this. You can go ahead and go look in the mirror and tell me you don’t see something you call a flaw.
Picking on short women is stupid. Picking on tall women is stupid. Women picking on women is stupid.
You’re stupid. Models are picked because they have no curves you moron not because they’re pretty. Designers like that because they don’t have to worry about that pesky female anatomy. They don’t have hips, boobs, butts, or really ANYTHING men find attractive in females other than legs. Stick shaped models are inherently less sexual looking, meaning the attention isn’t diverted to the body rather than the outfit.
If you add some womanly curves to a prepubescent tall freak: the clothes aren’t the focus anymore. MODELS are def NOT what REAL tall women look like. Most tall women HAVE curves. They pick women who are completely interchangeable with nothing outstanding about them.
Idk why I’m even explaining this to you, you’re probably far, far too ignorant to absorb any contradictory statements to your reply.
You sound incredibly stupid, and I can’t help but to point out your retardation.

      1. After all the names u called that person I hope u don’t feel any better about ur self. U think that person is stupid because she called short women dogs. Then join the club idiot. Its like u did the same to models. They aren’t beautiful? Are you then? Models undergo so many challenges trying to be short but no u didn’t see it from that perspective. But I guess its a waste of time trying to educate you of that.

    3. Wow such an ignorant fool guess what newsflashI blew away every tall woman in my class in a bikini the tall woman is usually big boned and not as curvy the face usually isn’t as pretty either

  8. The modeling industry is not about promoting the AVERAGE woman, it’s about promoting the “ideal” it’s about the creation of fantasy/designs, illusions and pushing creations to the limits. It’s for the creative.

AVERAGE is not what couture design is about. And petite women are seriously, AVERAGE!!! HAHA!

    1. This must be written by a jokester… Are you really trying to advocate the ideology that tall women are “ideal?” I could answer this in detail, but it’s not worth my time. Have a good one!

  9. I am a 5 feet 8.5 inch tall Middle Eastern female. I naturally have small feminine shape although I am tall people always assume I am wearing heels and I am 135 pounds. Maybe they assume I am wearing heels because there is always this stigma that tall women are “masculine” and have stopped developing later in life because they start puberty later in life. Sadly to burst your bubble, I started my period at the age of 10 (I was 5’5 at this time)and by the age of 13 I was wearing a 34C cup bra, at the age of 13 I was 5’6 and at the age of 16 I was 5’8.5. I naturally wear a size 34 dd and I have a bottom that matches it, I thank my Middle Eastern genes for my feminine hour glass shape. I have never made fun of or looked down upon “shorter” women. We “tall” females do not look at you as short, because it is the average or what is perceived to be normal to be under 5’5. I do not have a problem with men and I have had my choice of men ranging from 6’4 to 5’7. I feel that this article is trying to validate something, you say it is to properly represent the “average” woman in regards to fashion and modeling. Yet you neglect the fact that most clothes are made to fit the 5’5 and under female. You don’t hear us complaining lol. Get over it. Instead of wasting your energy on this height debate, why don’t you do something more productive with your time such as advocate for children who are living in poverty or something. This is really petty. Be confidant, it has nothing to do with height. It is all about the way a female carries herself. The shortest women can have the “tallest” character and vice versa. And shorter females do not steal tall man from tall women, on average men are taller than women, so most men will be taller than most women lol. Common sense. And a fun fact which you neglected, it has been proven that tall People Earn More. A 2004 study revealed that every inch adds about $789 per year in earnings. Taller people (those taller than their nations average height) are smarter. Princeton economists published a 2006 study identifying why tall people make more money. And according to a study at the University of Gdansk in northern Poland concluded that the ideal height of an attractive woman was 5’9 and 6’2 for a man. The conclusion, they’re smarter than you.

So my point is, it is harder for me to find clothes that fit properly without having to pay $200 for a pair of designer jeans because my legs are longer, and taller people are smarter, earn more and are generally more attractive. We are a rare number of the world’s population. It is easier to be average than be above average because we have to deal with people like you who have self esteem issues. Instead of attacking us why dont you learn to love yourself. Nobody is attracted to a insecure woman. :/

    1. Thanks for reading Bella Petite! For your information standard missy sizing basically fits women who are over 5’5″ tall. Most clothing lines do not offer petite sizing and only 5 major designers have petite sizes. Hope this helps you to better understand petite women’s fashion issues. Have a good one!

      1. first of all your comment is out of touch with reality. the people making mass marketed clothes are fully aware of the average women’s height and proportions. they are here to make money, not to make a statement. they are going to make clothes for women 5.6 and under for the us and maybe 5.7 and under for europe MAX. i’m proabably rounding up on both of those heights. being about between 5.8 to 5.9 myself i have the torso of a petite to average girl but the legs of a giant. this means small and extra small tops 99 percent of time fit me, especially length, while pants are almost always high waters and floods. basically, i can never stick jeans in the dryer or i’m going to look like i’m expecting the flood of the century. also my arms are longer than average so shirts while fitting the length of me will often come up short on the arms. maybe super petite women tend to have longer torso shorter legs so you guys have to get pants hemmed, but usually since you are petite, small shirts will still fit your torsos. you don’t have to worry about cropped arms and legs. also skirts and dresses in small or medium sizes don’t make you look like you are moonlighting as a prostitute. so wait, how again are clothes not made for you? are you really that upset over the fashion industry? that’s really the life you are lusting after? all the catty gay men and drugs and starvation and looking lanky and disproportionate? I guess if that’s what you’re into but to be honest most women are below 5.5 so basically you want to oppress a minority group here or 5.8 and up women just because it’s being done to you in some little world called fashion and vogue. how many times do people need to say to you women aren’t chosen for their looks to model clothes on a runway? designers like the odd and esotericness of high fashion so their choices in models reflect that. they say that they like ugly. it’s not an attack on your desirability as a human being. this website seems every bit as childish as a tall woman’s website dedicated to “taller girls are sexier”. I find both of these types of websites degrading to women, honestly. This isn’t just a website to try and bring up the self esteem of the majority of women. It’s also a tool used to make women feel bad about themselves if they don’t fit the criteria. Posting links to articles saying “men prefer petites”only solidifies my opinion. what a sad little world we inhabit.

      2. I find when I go shopping that most clothing lines offer average or petite, especially for pants, it’s very rare to find a long length. And dresses? Forget about it, most of the time I have to buy long dresses because a regular dress that would hit mid-thigh on my sister who is 5’1, I can’t wear because my panties and everything else would be showing, and I’m 5’8. And I honestly think that actual petite women are now getting plenty of modeling jobs, Dita Von Teese is a perfect example who makes millions and is very successful and wonderful, and I believe she’s only around 5’5. I’m sorry to my fellow tall girls but only people who are making the big bucks give an actual crap about runway models, most celebrities are short, guys and girls except for a few like Jennifer Lawrence, or Beyoncé to name a couple who I believe are around 5’7-5’8. If it’s fame, money and guys you want, it’s not about your height it’s about how you carry yourself and be in confident in who you are. A lot of the girls on here who are hating, it’s because they’re insecure about themselves, I try not to hate but I know for a long time I’ve been insecure about being tall, all of my friends are shorter than me and I love them, but I also sometimes wish I was a little shorter so that I wouldn’t have to constantly feel like a giant compared to my friends, especially around guys.

    2. Great answer Layla. I just have one objection though. The “tall people make more money” fact applies only to some professions(like service industry, sales, PR etc.) If you are an in professions where brains and competence matter the most, you are paid according your skill-level.

I am 5′ 7″. I really don’t care how tall a man is, as long as he has confidence, strength of character and other traits that make him manly. I have been hit on by slightly shorter men (than myself) and many of them have made me blush. Its their confidence that makes them manly to us females and our feminine nature that makes us attractive to men. period!

However, I have noticed that petite women are obsessed with height a lot more than I am. I have a friend who is 5 feet tall. I don’t think she will marry a man her height ever. She even told me that frankly that her future husband has to tower over her!

She notices and compliments men’s heights a lot more than I do. She makes snide remarks about men under 5′ 6″ as if they are abnormal! Its annoying actually.
Its not just her, I have heard many tiny asian women say that they can’t date any man who is shorter than 6 feet. I have a neighbor who is from japan. She said she married an American man just because of his height and to have tall sons. It has been my observation that petite women are insecure about their heights.

I do have one small hangup though. When I see a really big, muscular and tall man with a really tiny woman(like 6’5″ vs 4′ 11″), it kind of gives me the creeps. Like Klitschko and Pannetierre…

    3. Great answer Layla. I just have one objection though. The “tall people make more money” fact applies only to some professions(like service industry, sales, PR etc.) If you are an in professions where brains and competence matter the most, you are paid according your skill-level.

  10. Tall men are better hung? I think the fact that petite women have this taste is a crime to deserving tall people and tall men should be jailed for dating petite girls because you look like children and tall men dating you ugly creatures are really child molesters. I have always hated the way petite women look, yuck!

      1. I get that the first comment was rude but that doesn’t give you the right to use a horribly offensive slur. It was uncalled for and I don’t understand your need to associate their rudeness with a gender identity.

  11. I personally find taller women more attractive then their petite counterparts. It may have something to do with the fact that my mother was very tall 5,10-11 and quite athletic. So I feel like my kids should have the same experience growing up as I did.

  12. I don’t understand why this article is trying to make tall women sound adversarial, or insinuate that tall women have it out for petite women. I’m 5’10” and I don’t like it very much at all. I, personally, would much rather be petite. Tall women are often perceived as masculine, awkward, or freakish. We women need to support each other in a society that can be cruel to us, not tear each other down or be petty about our differences. Everyone has her own insecurities and her own battles to fight. No need to make it more difficult for our sisters!

  13. Tall women are bullies. I still recall my amazon bitch mother standing over me, with her giant man-hands, threatening to slap me if I spoke one wrong word. Men drooled all over her, even though she looked like a fucking linebacker with tits. Most men are closet cases anyhow, so I guess I’m not surprised.

  14. I’m 511 170 pounds skinny body frame but for me I’ll take the tall amazon women that weights around 180-215 pounds with long big heavy legs calve muscles and thighs for some reason I’ll much rather my women be to long and heavy for me to pick up and throw around the bed and for her legs to be real long strong and consistently pulling my little body in when wrapped around me rather than a short and petite women that I can easily thrown around pick and have my way with plus amazon women look better anyway just my opinion

  15. Forget petite amazon women are better I know first hand and trust me I’m not tall or big and buff at all infraction I’m light and skinny but I always date the amazon women they are a real blessing trust me

  16. Wow . I’m 18 years old & 5’11 almost 6ft & I think this whole article is just dumb. I don’t understand if you don’t want tall women to keep criticizing short women than why would you even write a response? Mabye it sounded alright in your head but it sounded completely rude when I read it . I feel like I am being attacked about my hieght . I have always had short friends & I only have one friend who is taller than me by an inch . I feel as if it is the other way around . When I go shopping for jeans or tshirt I can never find anything that fits my arms or legs correctly. I’m skinny but I’m not ” lanky ” I have large breast and a nice small butt so I have good proportions. It’s like tall guys don’t want tall women like them they only go for the short ones and is that your fualt? no. But that’s why “Amazons” get so angry bcuz it’s like no one wants them . Men are intimidated and insecure whenever thinking about dating someone taller than them pops into their heads. I used to hate my height when I was in middle school I looked so awkward &I I thought I was ugly bcuz I wasn’t “petite” but I embrace my height now and lots of people love it . Writing this article was useless , if you thought that those other articles about short women were bad well you just put yourself in the same category . I am proud to be an ” Amazonian ” 🙂

  17. Very good observations on how tall women view petite women I am 6’1″ and love it! I see you did your research and you know we tall women don’t like short women you are annoying period!

  18. Amazon women are 5’8 and over? LOL. Someone needs to get outside more. First time I’ve heard that. More like 6 foot and over.

  19. Tall girls don’t bitch and complain that small girls take our men. With all the men shorter than us, we feel that the short women are entitled to them and we are entitled to the tall men, that’s all. But love is love, no matter the height of who you love. Us tall women just HATE dating men shorter than us. I found this article kind of offensive towards me. I’ve spent my whole life trying to feel okay with my height of 5’10. I’ve always felt like a freak. Men don’t prefer any kind of girl. They like to be bigger than them so they can feel dominant, but they don’t necessarily prefer tall or short. Why do you feel the need to dis us tall girls in order to make yourself feel better about being short? There are so many of you, you can’t possible feel left out or like you belong in a circus.

  20. I am a relatively short male and I am grateful for 2 kinds of female types:

    1) The petite ladies who settle for us shorties and make being petite something to share forever. The cutest little couple on the planet does have its advantages in the real world.

    2) For the amazon ladies, us short guys love you too. We want you to see us as if we were bigger we would be your protectors but since we are little we can only try really hard and make you happy amazons. Amazons who will bend down for the cute short guy are in a whole other category that should be loved by the world.

  21. Wow, you sure seem insecure about your height and hateful towards tall women. That’s not nice. I have never read an article from a tall woman bashing short ones, but have read plenty of posts like this. Well if you really feel the need to make tall girls feel like shit, then you have done a great job. I live in Europe and we have plenty of tall people are, men and women. I also find models to be very proportioned, but it’s only my opinion. You just sound like one of those fat people that hate on skinny ones, so in the end you just made yourself look bad. Its sad really, maybe one day when you mature as a person you will understand.

  22. Discrimination against petites? Listen, it doesn’t work like that. You should know that having an opportunity for being in modelling is the only thing us tall girls have going for us. We have NOTHING ELSE. Hell, we don’t even know if we’ll get in or not. If you can’t reach something, that can easily be solved by grabbing a chair and standing on it. If you want to play basketball, don’t. It’s a waste of time and even if you’re a 6’4 girl you still have a low chance of getting into a national team. And what’s this about tall women having blogs trashing on short girls? I think I can pick out hundreds of blogs that are the same way as them. When you’re short, you can be beautiful, cute, and sexy at the same time. When you’re short, you don’t have to worry about being taller than boys. I’ve been picked on so often for being ‘masculine’ or the tallest girl in class, I have to worry about whether I look feminine or not while short girls don’t even need to think about it to themselves. You know, I’ve actually been left by 3 guys just so they can date short girls. The first girl was 5’0, the second 5’3, and the third 5’1. I’m so done. I apologize if I sound like I’m picking on short girls, but really, I just can’t even anymore. Petites girls are lovely and cute, while tall women can be seen as masculine and ugly.

  23. Petite is from 5.1- 5,3, i think shorter is Child height. Average height for a 13 year girl is 5.1 tall. And men who like woman semester to must like be Child molestar because Therese are plenty of phedophiles in The world. I think tjata The True.

  24. This blog made me think of my early 20’s, as I was rejected by the foxes who chased after the Alfa males and showed no more interest in me than glancing at a blade of grass next to the highway traveling at 75 MPH. And this made me think about my own personal experiences with tall women, a slightly different story from this blog, but same result due to being a Beta male.
One 6’ tall girl, in a gym, talked to me with such a look of disinterested she couldn’t have looked or acted more uninterested if she had wanted to. I approached another, who I estimated being 5 foot 9 or 10 inches. She got angry with me for even asking her out and stuck her finger in my face informing me she didn’t date shorter men. On line, I met a girl 5’11”, and we worked out together once in my apartment complex gym, after that she did not return my two phone calls, there could be others, too, I just don’t remember them all. Now, you may say the rejections were because of my looks, that could be true, but as I approached girls closer to my height, my success rate went way up.
This blog also made me think about the rejections by tall girls, and it angered me, but not at the time the rejection. Only years later, when I actually tallied them up, did I get angry. I was rejected not because I was fat, bald, ugly, deformed or had a rotten personality. No. The reason I was rejected by all of these women was my height. Not a one even bothered to put forth the effort to get to know me much less date me.
I did date three women who were significantly taller than me, two at 5’11” and one at 5’10”. (I am 5’8”) And all three happened to be 32 years of age, which is more than a coincidence and a tie in with this blog. No doubt all three wanted a tall Alfa male, and lost, so a safe stable Beta male was the next best thing in their 30’s, for I certainly didn’t grow any taller and I doubt I got better looking. These women were past their prime and worried. I was in my late 30’s, at this time of my life, after being married for 10 years. It was also at this time, I could easily date younger women, and I did. When I was 38, my first girlfriend was 27, the next was 27 and the next was 24 who became my second wife. I never dated with any intent of marrying a woman my age. Younger women had no issue with me dating them, and I certainly had no issue dating them. I remember going to singles events and seeing very pretty women, who were my age, who I know 15 years earlier would not have given me the time of day. And even now, they may have looked better than myself, but now it was me who had no interest in approaching them. I did not want to take time and money away from pursuing younger women. Why go old, when I could go young? I was amazed how the dating game changed in my favor. And I used it to my advantage, just as women had done years earlier.
I am now married and have 4 sons. I have 3 degrees, and I have co-authored 2 US patents. I could have provided a good life to any girl. I wanted a taller girl because of the physical turn on and to for fill one of my desires, yet not one single tall girl (in her 20’s) gave me a chance. I was turned down consistently and without a second thought. (Maybe due to the Alfa male fascination) So, if you find yourself in your late 20’s or early 30’s with no prospect of a husband or children in the immediate future, you have no one to blame but yourself. There were men like me, who wanted a leggy female, but they, like me, were never accorded the opportunity. (This also applies to average height women, too) And the reality is that the vast majority of tall women will not even consider a shorter man (and Beta males) until it is too late. You would think it would be obvious that if you included shorter males (and Beta males) in your suitor selection, your odds would increase of finding a mate. There are a lot more short and medium height males than there are taller ones. So my advice would be to accept the advances of all men and get to know them. I, who would have relished the opportunity of having curvy broad hips and a tapered waist to hold all night and to make love to into the early hours of the morning, was never, not once, even given a chance to start a relationship. Throw away the yardstick, for you may find someone like me, who would love to share his life and love with a tall girl.
By the way, another tie in with this article and be found at this web site.

This writer tell about his rejections in his 20’s by women only to find that women now chased after him, in spite of his height, now he is in his early 30’s. He warns of the dangers of the “Reformed Heightest Woman” who are desperate after wasting their life chasing the Alfa male and now want a stable Beta with a steady pay-check.
Here is anther on how women who found the Mr. Average (Beta Males) were worth nothing in their 20’s and now that these women are in their 30’s can’t buy a date, even from the Beta Males
Why women lose in the dating game
    http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life/why-women-lose-the-dating-game-20120421-1xdn0.html
During their 20s, women compete for the most highly desirable men, the Mr Bigs. Many will readily share a bed with the sporty, attractive, confident men, while ordinary men miss out. As Whiskey puts it at whiskeysplace.wordpress.com: ”Joe Average Beta Male is about as desirable to women as a cold bowl of oatmeal.”
”I can’t believe how many men my age are only interested in younger women,” wails Gail, a 34-year-old advertising executive as she describes her first search through men’s profiles on the RSVP internet dating site. She is shocked to find many mid-30s men have set up their profiles to refuse mail from women their own age.
Talking to many women like her, it’s intriguing how many look back on past relationships where they let good men get away because they weren’t ready. American journalist Kate Bolick wrote recently in The Atlantic about breaking off her three-year relationship with a man she described as ”intelligent, good-looking, loyal and kind”. She acknowledged ”there was no good reason to end things”, yet, at the time, she was convinced something was missing in the relationship. That was 11 years ago. She’s is now 39 and facing grim choices.

    1. To Frank Johnson: You are a very little man. Not surprising that you sought to marry a girl 15 years younger than you! LOL! A woman your age, would not have you. You are clearly are immature and likely not too attractive the exact type of guy a girl who is uneducated, unattractive, and not good looking at all to an Alpha male whatsoever! The joke is on you, because when your viagra gives out she will be cheating on you, if she already isn’t. Based on your defensive long response you are not good looking, nor educated and a real woman would never want you! Enjoy your world of make believe. Good luck!

    2. Frank, you are a pathetic excuse for a man! It’s not surprising only a stupid kid would marry you. The type of girl that marries older men want it easy. They are like paid prostitutes, we all know it. We women always laugh at how easy it is to marry old guys like you and make you pay our way! We don’t find you even remotely attractive. She’ll wait to reach the ten-year point to be sure she can take you for indefinite spousal support. Than who is the sucker, lol.

    3. Frank, I read your rant, and you come off like an insecure little man. No surprise you married a girl that is young enough to be your daughter, lol. As you already know a good looking woman at her prime, that is in her 30’s would not even look your way. You have a negative attitude and lack the real intelligence to get a woman who is your equal. Plus, considering you are 40 you could not keep up with a woman in her thirties, and you are well past your prime (remember your 20’s), and as you know ladies weren’t attracted to you then or now. Only a foolish man believes a woman that is 15 years younger finds them to be anything more than a sugar-daddy. No doubt she has a boyfriend on the side. Divorce rates for first-time marriage are 70%+ due in large part to marriages with age divides. And the girl wanting a man they find better looking and more sexually attractive than you will ever be. You still are as undesirable as you described in your diatribe here. LOL

  25. I think this article is a little hard on us tall women. I’m 5’9, and I admit I have benefitted from much male attention in my life (and sometimes been thoroughly annoyed). It’s partly because I’m decent looking, sure, but also I’m more visible than a shorter woman because of my height.
It’s understandable to have animosity towards tall women, since short or normal height women are so under represented in fashion. But, that’s just fashion. Their job is to make us feel inferior so that we buy their products to improve our lives.
I have an ex (6’3) who preferred small women, because he said he liked feeling like he could ,”break them.”
So, maybe it is a perverted fetish that so many tall men like short women.
Perhaps short women should date short men? Why do I never see that combination? There are so many short men out there that are good looking and would worship you, simply because their options are so limited due to their height.
I’m not against dating shorter men, either. I’ve dated men who are 5’7. It doesn’t really matter when you’re laying down. 😉
And I’m not sure if you were kidding or not, but height isn’t an indicator of penis size AT ALL. I wish.

  26. I stumbled across this article while searching for the answer as to the average height of the American woman. So the answer is 5′ 3″. If that is so, then WHY are there far fewer styles of dresses to choose from for petites? If petites are the average size, shouldn’t clothing manufacturers make the effort to produce all of their styles in petite size, as well as regular size?

  27. As a 5foot 10 inch girl I want to say that that I never find clothing that fits in the women’s section while my best friend who is 5’2″ has a gigantic wardrobe and so many shoes.
Please don’t write such articles. It honestly hurts.
As the taller girl I am considered more manly and seldom called cute.
    It’s unfair.
However I do love my height no matter what you guys think.
I suggest you do the same without hurting others feelings.
    “Amazon women”…..seriously….
Try to be a little thoughtful

  28. Eh, this website is for petite 5’5, 5’4 and under for support, modeling etc. Because most people know the modeling and other entertainment industries discriminate towards short women. Petite does not mean super child size thin either. In case those over 5’5 didn’t know most pants do not fit right women 5’4 under right unless it is a short or petite size. Or, if our arms are longer or shorter than the shirt we think we should fit right. You can’t just roll them up, the pants fit in an awkward manner. I.e. an over sized waist like you have a pouch or fit tight at the thigh. I know that if you are over 5’7 you definitely have to get special sizing too. Tall sizes. This article is what it is designed to. Express thoughts supporting short women. We all know how men act towards tall women. Or any woman taller than a guy. I like short men. I dated both but the best experiences have been those close to my height. I am 5’4. The really tall ones acted weird if you know what mean. But any ways this website I think has little do with dating.

  29. That is so true! I am a petite! I struggled to find my clothes until last year! All my wardrobe incl wedding dress I order custom online. It is so cool finally to discover the way to have unique clothes from upcycled fabrics! I have discovered a few brands so far, but I like Dressarte Paris as I can order anything in the comfort of my home!
