Bella Petite Hour “Petite Model News!” Meet Amber Forrester

On the April 13th Bella Petite Hour radio show with (Host Ann Lauren) we featured special guests petite model Amber Forrester and International agent Swan Bowden.

Amber is the Bella Petite cover girl finalist for April! She is one of twelve finalist to be selected this year to vy for the prestigious position of “cover girl”.

You can find out who the other petite model finalist are on the “Bella Petite Models” page.

Petite Model Amber Forrester

There’s no denying Amber Forrester is a real petite at 5’2″.  She’s also a true southern belle, living in Georgia, where she began developing her portfolio at the age of 15  by shooting with local photographers.

Since graduating high school last year she has been focusing on becoming a professional model and actress.  During a casting call for models she caught the eye of talented photographer Marty McBride who has since developed her book.

McBride’s work landed Amber on the cover of Rounders LifeStyle Magazine, in addition to securing her placement as a Bella Petite cover girl finalist.

Recently, she went to New York by request of artist Jon Paul to shoot cover art for Harlequin, Warner Books, Random House and several prominent publishing firms.

Amber will tell us how important the petite fashion movement is and what it will take in her words to tear down the fashion industry standards.  We will also find out why she thinks she’ll make a great cover girl for Bella Petite Magazine.

We can assure this petite model is ready to take on the task of working with BellaPetite.com to break down the old stereotypes and fashion industry belief that you have to be tall to be a fashion model!

International Agent Swan Bowden

Our second guest is Bella Petite’s new regional director in Hawaii Swan Bowden. Swan is the owner of Focus International Hawaii.  She’s been in the model and talent industry for twenty-eight years. Swan isn’t exactly fashion model height at 5’8″ (an inch below the industry standards).  She’ll talk about what it was like to work with women significantly taller in countries like Turkey, Chile, Panama, Switzerland, Germany, China, Japan, Mexico and many locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.  On many of the runways (even at 5’8″) she felt short!

Swan successfully transitioned from model to business and in 1990 she launched Focus International, an award winning international agency booking talent for commercials, print work, high fashion, editorial and catalogue. Swan was responsible for booking models and talent for Tyra Banks America’s Next Top Model cycle 13 produced in Hawaii.

Currently, she has teamed up with BellaPetite.com to produce Hawaii petite model events, regional editorial shoots, trade events and televised specials featuring petite models. This week Bella Petite’s fashion photographer Peter Baratti will be in Hawaii at the Focus International agency test shooting their petite models to enter Bella Petite’s cover girl competition.
